Call for food price caps ‘completely preposterous’, says M&S boss The recent proposal by government officials for voluntary price caps on essential food items has been met with disdain from Marks & Spencer's (M&S) chief executive, Stuart Machin.

Machin argues that the government should focus on reducing tax and regulatory burdens instead.
