Ukraine Beheads Its Military as Performance Begins to Soar
The simultaneous replacement of Ukraine’s top military brass has sent shockwaves through the international community. However, what’s been largely overlooked is the underlying reason behind this drastic change: a bitter internal debate over strategy has come to a head.
At its core, the disagreement centers on unmanned warfare – a tactic that’s proven devastatingly effective for Ukraine but whose limitations and risks are increasingly being called into question by some within the defense establishment. The numbers tell a story: since June 6, Ukraine’s SBS has disabled 196 fuel tankers and destroyed three-quarters of Russia’s ferry capacity across the Kerch Strait.
